Bishop Thomas D. Strong was born November 21, 1961, the second of eight children, to the union of Bishop Andrew C. Strong and Mother Lavada Strong. In 1966 at the tender age of five, he made a life changing decsion to be baptized in JESUS name. Shortly after, the LORD filled him with His precious Holy Ghost.
Bishop Strong became the Bass Guitar player for the Pentecostal House of Prayer. Elder Strong attended and graduated from Decatur High School. While at Decatur High he participated on the Weightlifting Team.
In 1980, Bishop Strong was ordained a Deacon for the Pentecostal House of Prayer. He was married to Sister Vickie Strong on March 27, 1982. During this same time God sought to move him to another level of ministry. He felt the call of God on his life and began preaching the Word of God. During the next few years he was taught and mentored by his father and many others.
Five years later Elder Strong began a pastorate at the Solomon Temple Apostolic Church in Russellville, Alabama. He pastored there for about one year. He then returned to his father’s church, Pentecostal House of Prayer. Elder Strong became the Assistant Pastor of Pentecostal House of Prayer.
In April of 1994, Elder Strong founded the Jubilee House of Prayer. Through the leading of God Elder Strong began ministering and leading the people of God and many souls were saved. Elder Strong became District Elder in November of 1999 and a few months later he became Suffragan Bishop in the Assembly of Pentecostal Believers (APB).
Today, Bishop T. D. Strong is the Founder and Senior Pastor of the Greater Jubilee House of Prayer. He is also the Diocesan Bishop over the Alabama District Council in the P.A.B. (Pentecostal Assembly of Believers) where Bishop Carl E. Holland is the Presiding Prelate.
Bishop Strong is the father of one Daughter, Mrs. Reshonda Burgess who is married to Richard Burgess Sr. Bishop Strong also has two grandchildren Richard Burgess Jr. and O’shanique Burgess.
Bishop T. D. Strong has truly been found to be a man of God. Many lives have been and are still being changed by this man of God. |
